Transformation’s kinetics

Portfolio Description

This module deals with the methods most frequently applied methods in the analysis of the kinetic of various transformations, such as the complex chemical/physicochemical processes such as material degradation, crystallization, etc. The methods are isoconversional – integral, differential and incremental ones. Other methods will be mentioned only marginally.

The methods based on the general kinetic equations are divided into groups and their advantages and disadvantages are analysed. Mainly the model-free (isoconversional) methods are mentioned.

Many processes in the condensed state exhibit the induction period at the end of which the material properties suddenly change. Since the materials usually deteriorate, the length if the induction period is considered as the measure of material stability. The methods of the material lifetime are presented.
